About us
The Gasthaus zur Waldegg in Horw is one of the oldest (built in 1871) restaurants in the Lucerne region. In 1934 an extension was added and the Arvenstube (Swiss stone pine room), which still exists today, was opened. With the construction of the drinking hall in 1941, a covered seating area was created in the garden.
In 2011, the Gasthaus zur Waldegg was acquired by Peter Lustenberger and subsequently completely renovated as a hotel/guesthouse. An “à la carte restaurant”, the Luzernerstübli, was built next to the existing venerable Arvenstube. The Pilatusstube, a new banquet and meeting room, was created and at the same time the Waldegg Bar was gently renovated. In 2014, the lodgment area was extended and converted into a boutique hotel with 3*** standard and contemporary comfort.
We pay great attention preserving existing traditions and combining them with modern touch. It is our daily challenge to meet the harmony between old proven classics and modern demands.
High quality raw products - if possible, originating from the region - are creatively and gently prepared under the modern and nutritional knowhow. Fairness, loyalty and transparent communication are among the most important cornerstones for maintaining a respectful working relationship with suppliers and employees. We hope that you, our guests, are not only satisfied, but that you, as a Waldegg friend, being fascinated will come back again and again.
